The predicted salary is between 110000 - 110000 £ per year.
The Business Analyst will be based in our London office and will be involved in scope definition, estimation, requirements gathering, solution development, functional design, QA & UAT testing, and end-user training on assigned projects and small change. These projects may touch on any area of International Insurance but will primarily cover Underwriting, Claims and Operations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills, be self-starting and independent in the delivery of assigned tasks and small projects. The candidate needs to be able to bridge the gap between the business, IT and our key vendors in a rapidly changing environment.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties May Include:
- Work with the business to proactively solve problems, identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements for the International Insurance division's processes and systems.
- Key team member on large projects, helping in the facilitation of software development through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement for the Underwriting, Claims and Operational systems landscape.
- Work with colleagues in other BTS departments/Centres of Excellence to ensure change is successfully managed end-to-end.
- Assist and develop detailed business cases and requirement documentation for new systems and enhancements.
- Participate in evaluation of parent company solutions to assess fit and integration into the International business and technology environment.
- Participate in packaged system evaluation and selection.
- Develop functional process maps and use cases.
- Help facilitate meetings and workshops.
- Act as SME on International system functionality and represent BTS in business workshops.
- Other tasks as required.
Methodology, Tools & Techniques (Formal Skills):
- Solid experience in business and systems analysis.
- Experience in defining and prioritising business requirements and needs.
- Able to analyse data to help confirm and drive requirement and solution analysis.
- Ability to deliver consistently high-quality results operating under Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience in researching various solutions and doing solution options analysis beneficial.
- Creative problem-solving ability to define solutions and alternatives that meet business needs.
- Demonstrable ability to fully understand business processes and business needs.
- Ability to multitask.
Facilitation, Presentation, and Interpersonal Skills:
- Team player possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of operating in a geographically dispersed project environment included outsourced services/offshore development/QA teams.
- Good documentation capabilities with high attention to detail.
- Able to facilitate meetings and workshops.
- Good interpersonal skills (proactive behaviour, consulting attitude, integrative personality, etc.).
- Good organisational skills including ability to self-start own task assignments and to independently lead small projects.
- Strong detail-orientation.
- Ability of working in a dynamic, flexible environment.
- London insurance market, general insurance, or financial services experience.
- Familiarity with any of the following systems highly beneficial: Policy Admin, Delegated Underwriting, CRM Systems, Pricing Tools.
- Proficient in software systems commonly used to manage Programs/Projects (Azure Dev Ops, MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, JIRA etc).
