We are working with a top-tier international firm who are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join their Risk & Compliance team within their Belfast office on a 12-month FTC basis.

The successful candidate will join an elite global practice, providing legal strategic support to the firm’s partners and fee-earners on a range of client terms and risk-related issues. The candidate’s duties will include advising the firm on its contractual obligations within their global operations (in areas such as incident response), maintaining detailed records of contractual terms, utilising technology and data tools to analyse and report on trends, risks and impacts, and approving, escalating and advising on high-risk or non-compliant terms. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to take the lead on reviewing, interpreting and negotiating complex client engagement terms, with a particular focus on data privacy, information security and AI-related provisions.

Essential Criteria:

  • 4+ PQE;
  • Strong background in contract negotiation and complex contract review, ideally within a risk, regulatory or law firm environment;
  • Excellent commercial awareness;
  • Outstanding academics;
  • Technically excellent;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Willingness to become involved in business development;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
