We are working with a market-leading national law firm who are seeking a Legal Director to join their Energy Projects team within their London office.
The successful candidate will lead a highly regarded Energy team, advising clients on all aspects of energy projects, with a focus on energy market commercial and regulatory advisory mandates. The candidate will work on matters such as UK energy regulation, policy, and market design, supporting M&A and project finance transactions, energy offtake agreements (including corporate PPAs), grid connection, and use of system arrangements. The candidate will provide transactional support on high-value projects while also working on innovative regulatory advisory matters. The candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to participate in business development initiatives while managing client relationships.
Essential Criteria
- 5+ PQE;
- Strong background in energy regulation and commercial/transactional work within a medium to large commercial firm;
- Excellent commercial awareness;
- Outstanding academics;
- Technically excellent;
- Negotiation skills;
- Willingness to become involved in business development;
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
