Based in Windsor and Maidenhead, Child in Care Team. Candidates will complete their ASYE Programme in the Children in Care Team, however may be required to move teams following completion of their ASYE Programme at the end of the 12 months, due to service need.

Achieving for Children provides a comprehensive and supportive programme for Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) based in our Children’s Services.
About the role
Our programme provides all NQSWs with the training and development they need to grow and progress in their roles. You will have:
- a protected caseload throughout the programme,
- reflective supervision,
- a buddy within the team, and
- the support of a dedicated team an ASYE assessor who will be working with each NQSW ensuring you progress and develop during your first year in employment.
Achieving for Children provides a supportive ASYE programme for NQSWs based in Children’s Services across the different childcare teams. Each NQSW will work in a different childcare team undertaking statutory tasks including Child in Need, Child Protection and Children in Care.
AfC is passionate about the children and families we work with and staff provide the delivery of strong, integrated and responsive safeguarding, social care services and early help. We support our social workers to undertake creative methods of intervention to ensure the voice of the child is at the centre of service development.

This Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) position is dependent upon registration with Social Work England. If registration is pending at the cohort start date, a Family Support Worker position and pay may be offered initially. Upon confirmation of Social Work England registration, you will transition to the NQSW role.
About you
- Educated to degree level with appropriate professional Social Work qualification (CSS/CQSW or DipSw, MA SW, BA Hons SW)
- Active Social Worker England registration
- Experience of children’s social care (through placement, shadowing or previous work experience)
