We're launching a brand-new supported accommodation service in Maidenhead, providing a safe, high-quality home for up to 20 care leavers as they take the next step towards independent living. Opening in October 2026, this newly refurbished service will offer young people the stability, guidance and practical support they need to thrive. As Team Manager, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape a brand-new service, build and lead a dedicated team, and create an environment where young people can flourish. This is an exciting time to join Achieving for Children, as we continue to expand a successful model already established in Kingston.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the day-to-day operation of our new supported accommodation service, ensuring it provides a safe, trauma-informed and nurturing environment for young people preparing for independent adulthood.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of housing professionals.
- Oversee referrals and work closely with social workers and partner agencies to ensure young people receive the right support.
- Ensure the service operates safely, effectively and in line with all regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
- Manage budgets, maximise rental income and minimise voids.
- Promote resident participation, helping young people shape the service and develop essential life skills.
- Drive a culture of high-quality, person-centred support that delivers positive outcomes.
About you
We're looking for an experienced housing or supported accommodation professional who is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people. You’ll bring:
- A Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant subject.
- Experience managing housing or supported accommodation services for vulnerable young people.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing, coaching and developing teams.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and supporting young people with complex needs.
- Experience managing budgets and financial records.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with the confidence to work independently and make decisions.
Working pattern
This role is based at our new supported accommodation project in Maidenhead and operates on a flexible shift rota, including:
- Early shifts: 8:00am start
- Late shifts: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
