We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and highly organised Family Worker to join our dedicated SEND service. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children, young people and their families by providing practical support, guidance and advocacy during some of the most important stages of their lives.

As a Family Worker, you will work closely with children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND, their families, schools and partner agencies to ensure they receive the right support at the right time. You will play a key role in building family resilience, promoting positive outcomes and supporting children and young people through key transitions in education and adulthood.

Working within the statutory frameworks of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the Children Act 1989 and 2004, you will contribute to holistic assessments, undertake direct work with families, and help coordinate support that enables children and young people to live safe, happy, healthy and successful lives.

No two days are the same. You will build strong relationships with families, schools, health professionals and other partners, helping to navigate challenges, identify solutions and ensure children and young people can thrive.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND and who can build positive, trusting relationships with a wide range of people.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Education to A Level standard or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEND and/or disabilities and their families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SEND legislation and statutory frameworks, including the Children Act 1989 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Experience of building effective relationships with schools, professionals and partner organisations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the willingness to embrace innovation and challenge traditional ways of working.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.

Why Join Us?

At Achieving for Children, our vision is simple: we want all children and young people to live safe, happy, healthy and successful lives. By joining us, you'll become part of an organisation that is ambitious for children, values innovation and collaboration, and is committed to delivering outstanding services for families across our communities.

This is an opportunity to be part of a supportive and passionate team where your work will have a lasting impact on the lives of children, young people and their families.
