About the role
The role of a Home and Community Support Worker is to provide practical care and support to children with disabilities and their families in the community. You will support children and young people with disabilities to engage in play activities, promoting independence and social skills, while ensuring a safe environment. The role involves supporting children with personal care needs, such as eating, dressing, toileting, bathing, and administering medication.
Relevant training will be provided before support takes place, including safeguarding, moving and handling (if applicable), lone working, and first aid.
About you
- Experience of direct work with children with disabilities in health, education, social services, or voluntary sectors.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and seek advice when needed.
- You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
- Skills to support children’s needs, including personal care, mobility, and independence.
