About the role:
The role of a Home and Community Support Worker involves providing practical care and support to children with disabilities and their families in the community. You will support children and young people with disabilities to engage in play activities, promote independence and social skills, and support families by providing a break from caring responsibilities. Care duties may include personal care such as eating, dressing, toileting, bathing, and administering medication. Relevant training will be provided before support begins (e.g., safeguarding, moving and handling, first aid).
About you:
- Experience working directly with children with disabilities in health, education, social services, or voluntary sectors.
- Ability to work independently and use your initiative.
- You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
- Skills to support children/young people with needs such as personal care, mobility, and independence.
