A growing accountancy practice is looking for an Accounts Associate to join its team in Saxmundham.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within Accounts & Business Advisory, working with a varied client base and gaining exposure across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and general compliance.

The Role

As an Accounts Associate, you will support the preparation of financial accounts and assist senior members of the team with a range of client-focused accounting and compliance work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Processing invoices and reconciling accounts
  • Supporting bookkeeping activities
  • Assisting with VAT returns and reconciliations
  • Preparing accounts and supporting schedules
  • Assisting with tax computations and general compliance
  • Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve basic queries
  • Identifying potential issues and escalating these to senior colleagues
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
  • Developing your technical knowledge across accounts, tax and VAT

About You

  • Experience working within an accountancy practice or relevant finance environment
  • A good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping
  • Some knowledge of VAT and basic taxation
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Good communication and client-facing skills
  • The ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines
  • A willingness to learn and develop technically

You may be studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA or another relevant qualification, or be qualified by experience.
