Job Description

A UHNW private family is seeking an experienced and highly capable Russian-Speaking House Manager to join their fully staffed household in Central London.

This is a role for an experienced private household professional who will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the residence, while overseeing a small team of household staff.

The House Manager will act as a key point of contact within the household, ensuring that staff work cohesively, household standards are consistently maintained, and the day-to-day needs of the family are handled efficiently and discreetly.

The role will also have a strong practical element, with responsibility for overseeing property maintenance, liaising with contractors, managing deliveries, assisting with errands and ensuring the residence is kept in excellent condition.

Driving will form part of the role when required, including supporting the family with transportation, appointments, activities and other ad hoc journeys.

The ideal candidate will be discreet, professional, personable and highly organised, with excellent private household experience and proven experience managing or coordinating household staff.

They should be proactive and hands-on, with a genuine willingness to muck in and assist wherever needed.

  • Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a House Manager within a private household
  • Previous experience working for UHNW/private families
  • Fluent Russian and English essential
  • Experience overseeing or managing a small team of household staff
  • Full, clean and valid UK driving licence – essential
  • Confident and experienced driver
  • Strong practical maintenance and handyman knowledge
  • Comfortable managing contractors and tradespeople
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Proactive, energetic and hands-on approach
  • Discreet and professional with an excellent understanding of confidentiality
  • Warm, friendly and easy-going personality
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills
  • Excellent team player with a genuine muck-in attitude
  • DBS certificate, or willingness to obtain one
  • Excellent, contactable references
  • Must live within approximately 45 minutes’ commute of Central London
  • Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the household
  • Manage and coordinate a small team of household staff
  • Organise staff duties, schedules and day-to-day priorities
  • Ensure high standards of service, presentation and household operations
  • Act as a key liaison between the family and household staff
  • Oversee general property maintenance and upkeep
  • Liaise with contractors, tradespeople and service providers
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for contractors and deliveries
  • Assist with ad hoc handyman and groundskeeping duties where required
  • Identify and address practical issues around the property
  • Run errands and assist with grocery shopping when required
  • Receive deliveries and assist with luggage and household items
  • Provide driving support for the family as and when required
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, maintained and presented to a high standard
  • Support the wider household team and family with ad hoc requests
  • Maintain complete discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Be flexible and willing to provide additional assistance when required
