Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant and Events Manager to support our boutique hotel client in Hexham. This is an exciting role and is ideal for an ambitious Restaurant and Events Manager to join a small management team to lead and inspire the Restaurant and Events team. This role works closely with the hotel owner who is hands on in the day to day running of the business. The hotel owner is passionate for all things hospitality and the local area. This role will oversee both an 80 cover restaurant and 80 cover events suite.
Role Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction.
- Lead, train, and inspire a team of professionals to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
- Work closely with the Head Chef and Owner to curate an exceptional food and beverage offering.
- Drive revenue and manage costs while maintaining a strong focus on profitability.
- Uphold strict health and safety, food hygiene, and licensing standards.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with guests, ensuring a personalised and memorable experience.
- Manage and lead all events of the hotel.
- Cultivating a workplace culture that promotes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for service.
- Oversee end to end events delivery from administration, stock ordering to on-the-day execution.
- Ensure that all corporate meetings and conferences are organised, set up and executed to the highest of standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within a senior position of a hotel restaurant environment.
- Previous experience managing a department at either Head of Department or Assistant Manager level.
- Passion for restaurant service and events delivery.
- Commutable distance to Hexham.
- Own transport.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
- Extensive knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and industry trends.
- Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and supplier negotiations.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a keen eye for detail.
