Our client is a national energy company seeking an experienced Senior Trader, LNG to join its London team. The role combines responsibility for international trading performance, commercial strategy and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities;
- Take full ownership of the international LNG trading business’s profitability and P&L.
- Develop and implement trading strategies across spot, short-term and long-term markets.
- Lead commercial negotiations and structure procurement and sales plans for individual transactions.
- Evaluate potential LNG suppliers and conduct due diligence to support trading decisions.
- Oversee trading contract execution, monitoring delivery against agreed commercial terms.
- Prepare management reports covering trading performance, market developments and commercial intelligence.
- Manage trading processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Lead and develop the team, promoting collaboration and setting clear performance expectations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business Management or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of LNG or gas trading experience, supported by a proven commercial track record.
- Established relationships with key participants across the LNG and gas markets.
- Strong commercial judgement and experience managing international business activities.
- Sound understanding of the global LNG and gas value chain, market dynamics and trading practices.
- Familiarity with relevant trade regulations, commercial contracts and transaction terms.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder coordination and communication skills, with an analytical approach and attention to detail.
