Brigstowe is an innovative charity that provides advice, support, and advocacy for people living with, or affected by, HIV and other long-term health conditions. Brigstowe is also a key partner in Yuno, the integrated sexual health service for Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, delivering health promotion and outreach to communities at increased risk of poor sexual health.
We are seeking an experienced freelance consultant to undertake a series of focus groups as part of Bristol City Council’s HIV Needs Assessment. Bristol City Council has commissioned Brigstowe to lead community engagement activities that capture lived experience and community insight to inform the assessment.
The successful consultant will:
- Facilitate five focus groups
- Undertake transcription and thematic analysis of the findings
- Produce a high-quality, actionable final report

You will receive:
- Up to £3000 for production of desired output (Note: Focus Group Participant incentives and venue hire are covered separately by Brigstowe)
- Duration: October – December 2026 (approx. 7.5 days)
- Location: Bristol (Fieldwork primarily at Brigstowe Offices, BS5 6AF and also at a Bristol community venue)
- Contract Type: Freelance / Independent Consultant (Self-Employed)
- Reports To: Head of Operations and CEO of Brigstowe
