The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is recruiting experienced freelance External Assessors to review funding applications and provide clear, evidence‑based written recommendations to support fair and transparent grant decisions for armed forces communities across the UK.
You’ll assess applications against our framework and scoring criteria; review supporting evidence (including annual accounts); identify key strengths/risks; record assessments in our grants database; meet agreed deadlines; and manage conflicts of interest. This is a freelance engagement and not an employed position. Individuals will be responsible for their own tax arrangements and will be required to confirm their IR35 status as part of the onboarding process. You’ll need proven experience in grant assessment or grant‑making within a charitable, public, or funding organisation.
Location: Remote
Remuneration: Pay is on a consultancy basis at £300 per day for a specified number of assessments (which varies across different funding programmes).
