ACEs is a pioneering independent provider of NHS ophthalmic care in the community, delivering high-quality eye care with consultant ophthalmologists and innovative fast-track cataract surgery outside hospital settings. We offer cataract surgery, YAG laser treatment, glaucoma treatment, oculoplastics and general ophthalmology.
With NHS waiting lists growing, ACES provides patients with timely care, including cataract surgery in as little as four weeks, supporting the NHS and improving patients’ lives. We have been providing NHS eye care in the East of England since 2007 and will expand across the UK. Our priority is patient care and timely outpatient services using the latest ophthalmic technology to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.
Our main objectives are to reduce waiting times, deliver exceptional care without hospital stays, provide care closer to home, increase capacity in secondary care, and maintain a fast, patient-focused pathway in collaboration with patient representatives and primary care professionals.
This is a practical hands-on role with varied responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Anaesthetic assistant
- Pre-operative assessments
- Prepare the patient for cataract treatment and undertake pre-screening diagnostic duties
- Discharge patients with after-care advice and medications
Qualifications
- Candidates must be NMC or HCPC registered with previous theatre or scrub experience
