Location - Southampton

Work Schedule - Full Time

Salary - £120-180,000 pa DoE

ACES is an independent provider of NHS eye care outpatient and surgical services that are delivered in the community. Working with state-of-the-art technologies we support the NHS, providing patients with the highest standards of clinical care. We provide a range of services including Cataract, YAG and SLT Laser Treatment, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, Vitreoretinal and General Ophthalmology.

As we increase the services provided, we now have a requirement for an Ophthalmologist to join our amazing and supportive team in our Southampton clinic. This is a great opportunity to join a growing and developing business and benefit from our fantastic fully funded training and development programs. You will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside a range of sub-specialists, providing timely care to patients.

Roles include:

  • Carrying out virtual and general outpatient, pre-operative and post-operative glaucoma consultations
  • Assessing the suitability of glaucoma patients for treatment
  • Managing patients according to group clinical directives and national policies
  • Undertaking SLT and YAG laser clinics

Consultant Ophthalmologists with experience of Medical retina and Oculoplastics as well as ability to perform the range of procedures open to glaucoma patients are sought.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients’ eyes to determine their vision correction management plan
  • Work with a multidisciplinary clinical team to provide integrated patient care
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field of ophthalmology
  • Support in the delivery of post-operative care for patients
  • Document and maintain patient medical records
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a consultant ophthalmologist
  • Fully GMC registered
  • Be on Specialist register
  • Be articulate, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be confident and organised
  • Be happy to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
