The predicted salary is between 33075 - 40425 Β£ per year.

We are looking to strengthen our NDT capability with experienced NDT Technicians to support one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure projects at Hinkley Point C. You will play a key role in ensuring welding, fabrication and installation activities meet the required quality, safety and technical standards. The position will involve a combination of 50% site/field-based activity and 50% office-based work. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced NDT professionals looking to develop their careers within the UK nuclear sector and contribute to the delivery of a major infrastructure programme. We are particularly keen to speak with NDT professionals who combine strong PCN qualifications with practical welding and site experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and/or oversee NDT activities across site.
  • Perform inspections in accordance with approved procedures, specifications and applicable codes and standards.
  • Support PAUT, UT and RT inspection activities.
  • Review and interpret NDT results and technical documentation.
  • Support welding inspection and quality activities across mechanical installation works.
  • Work closely with welding, construction, quality and engineering teams to resolve technical and quality issues.
  • Review and support Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated quality documentation.
  • Ensure inspection activities are accurately documented and fully traceable.
  • Identify non-conformances and support appropriate corrective actions.
  • Liaise with contractors and key project stakeholders to maintain the required standards of quality.
  • Maintain a strong focus on nuclear safety, quality and compliance throughout all activities.

Essential Requirements

  • PCN Level 2 certification.
  • We are particularly interested in candidates qualified in one or more of the following: PAUT – Level 2/3, UT – Level 2, RT – Level 2, RI / Radiographic Interpretation.
  • Strong NDT and welding background.
  • Demonstrable experience in weld inspection and NDT within major construction, energy, industrial or infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working with technical specifications, procedures and quality documentation.
  • Strong understanding of inspection reporting and traceability.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively between office and field/site environments.
  • Ability to obtain the required BPSS security clearance.

Desirable Experience

  • Higher-level PCN/NDT qualifications.
  • Previous experience on nuclear, power generation or other safety-critical projects.
  • Experience with pressure systems, fabrication and installation.
  • Experience working with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and End of Erection Status Reports.
  • Mechanical engineering, materials or welding qualifications, or equivalent vocational training and experience.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects involving complex mechanical and welded systems.
