As part of large-scale nuclear projects in the UK, we are seeking a technically experienced Project Manager with a strong engineering background in Mechanical / Electrical / Energy / EPCC delivery to lead complex nuclear projects from concept through delivery. The project manager will combine hands-on technical understanding with structured project management discipline to drive delivery, quality, safety, performance, and stakeholder alignment across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of a major installation programme, ensuring quality, schedule, cost, and safety objectives are met.
  • Control budgets and schedules to meet project milestones.
  • Define project scope, requirements, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Review technical submittals, designs, and engineering documentation for alignment with project requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks with appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal departments.
  • Communicate project status, risks, changes, and decisions clearly and proactively to all stakeholders.
  • Work with procurement and commercial teams to ensure contractual obligations are met and value is delivered.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with site-based teams as well as manufacturing interfaces, ensuring fully integrated delivery in line with safety, regulatory, quality, and programme standards.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Energy / Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Energy, Nuclear, HVAC, Industrial Engineering).
  • Delivered technically complex projects within highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, maintaining rigorous safety, security, and environmental standards.
  • Managed subcontractors and other stakeholders across large-scale construction programmes, ensuring coordinated execution and successful delivery.
  • Proven experience working in an engineering or technical role prior to formal project management responsibilities (not exclusively project coordination).
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary contractors.
