Role Description: This is a full‑time, on‑site Freelance Playground Designer role based in Wrexham. The Playground Designer will be responsible for creating innovative and engaging playground designs that meet client requirements, budgets and safety standards. Day‑to‑day tasks include:
- Collaborating with the sales team
- Conducting site visits
- Creating detailed design proposals
- Preparing project plans
- Ensuring that designs align with industry safety standards
- Liaising with clients to ensure their satisfaction with the proposed concepts and fine‑tuning the designs as needed
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in design tools and software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or other relevant platforms
- Strong creativity and design skills to create innovative, safe and attractive playground layouts
- Knowledge of playground equipment safety standards, including BS EN 1176 and 1177
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, installers and the sales team
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
- Experience in landscape architecture, industrial design or a related field is a plus
- Familiarity with timber products and eco‑conscious material sourcing is an advantage
- Previous experience in playground design or similar roles is highly desirable
