We are recruiting for our client, based in central London, a fast-growing and exciting scale-up business, having recently completed a Series A investment. They are focused on commercialising cutting-edge lightweight solar PV technology for commercial buildings. Their aim is to help decarbonise the built environment and provide energy security for their customers through technology that is good for the planet and good for people.

They have a requirement for a new creative and enthusiastic Project Engineer with solid electrical knowledge and hands-on experience delivering commercial rooftop solar projects over 250kW. This role requires someone who can design a full rooftop system end to end and who is confident interpreting structural engineers' reports and working closely with them throughout the design process. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of attending the London office 2-3 days per week with the remaining days worked from home.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in designing specifically Rooftop commercial solar PV systems in the UK
  • A degree (or relevant qualification) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a similar field
  • Experience designing with AutoCAD or similar software
  • Experience creating yield estimates using PVSyst or similar software
  • Excellent level of oral and written communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience with G99 applications for 100kWP+ solar PV projects
  • Project management/Site management qualifications and/or experience
  • UAV operational qualifications and/or experience
  • Experience with PowerBI, HOMER Pro or HOMER Grid
  • Additional qualifications relating to electrical regulations, design or installation in the UK
