The Role

As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will work closely with education and therapy colleagues to assess, support and develop communication skills that enable pupils to access learning, build independence and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions.
  • Support pupils with a range of speech, language and communication needs.
  • Contribute to EHCP targets, annual reviews and multidisciplinary planning.
  • Deliver individual and group interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, families and therapists.
  • Support communication-friendly learning environments.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate clinical records.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to person-centred and inclusive practice.
  • Passion for supporting autistic children and young people.

Desirable

  • RCSLT Membership.
  • Experience within SEND, specialist education or paediatric services.
  • Knowledge of autism and neurodiversity.
  • Experience of AAC and specialist communication approaches.
