We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected specialist education provider supporting autistic children and young people with complex communication needs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a Speech & Language Therapy service within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment where therapy is embedded throughout the educational experience.

The Role

  • Lead and develop the Speech & Language Therapy service.
  • Deliver specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to therapists and assistants.
  • Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews and multidisciplinary planning.
  • Support service development and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with education staff, families and external professionals.
  • Promote communication-friendly learning environments across the school.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Experience working with autistic children and young people.
  • Previous experience within specialist education, SEND or paediatric services.
  • Experience of clinical supervision, mentoring or leadership responsibilities.
  • Passion for inclusive practice and improving outcomes for children and young people.

Desirable

  • RCSLT Membership.
  • Knowledge of AAC and specialist communication approaches.
  • Experience supporting service development or quality improvement initiatives.
