About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Exams Officer / Exams Administrator to join our team at a thriving college in South East London. This is a vital role within the college, ensuring that all examinations and assessments are planned, administered, and delivered effectively, in line with awarding body requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full examinations cycle, including entries, timetabling, rooming, invigilation, and results.
  • Liaise with exam boards and awarding organisations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Manage exam entries and registrations, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
  • Organise exam timetables and communicate schedules clearly to staff, students, and parents.
  • Co-ordinate and train invigilators; ensure proper supervision of examination sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and secure records of student data, results, and certificates.
  • Administer access arrangements in line with JCQ and awarding body guidelines.
  • Support with college-wide data management and reporting as required.
  • Provide administrative support to the Exams Manager/SLT as needed.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of office and administrative systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and diary management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent IT skills, including spreadsheets (Excel), databases, email, and word processing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff, students, and external bodies.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • A systematic and meticulous approach to tasks.
  • Previous experience as an Exams Officer / Exams Administrator (preferable, though training will be given).
