About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable English Lecturer to join our team and deliver engaging lessons across Employability, Functional Skills English, and ESOL. The successful candidate will also support a range of learners, including those with SEN (Special Educational Needs), ensuring every student has the opportunity to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching in Employability, Functional Skills English (Entry Level to Level 2), and ESOL.
- Support learners across GCSE English and post-16 English programmes where required.
- Provide targeted support for learners with SEN, adapting resources and teaching styles to meet individual needs.
- Design and deliver engaging, learner-focused lessons that promote progression and achievement.
- Work closely with the wider teaching team to improve learner outcomes, retention, and progression.
- Provide feedback, mentoring, and study skills support to help students succeed both academically and in the workplace.
Requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience teaching English, Employability, Functional Skills, or ESOL in a college or secondary school setting.
- Understanding of and commitment to supporting learners with SEN and diverse learning needs.
- Strong classroom management, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Passionate about raising standards and improving learner outcomes.
