Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant – Further Education Location: Deeside, Flintshire Pay: £14.00–£16.00 per hour Contract: Long-term Temporary to Permanent Ace Academics is recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a large, well-established Further Education College based in Deeside. The college offers a diverse range of academic, vocational and practical courses, providing students with valuable skills, qualifications and pathways into employment or further education. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and supporting young people, with the potential to secure a permanent position. Key Responsibilities * Provide classroom support to students across a range of further education programmes. * Work closely with lecturers and teaching staff to support learning activities. * Offer one-to-one and small-group assistance to students requiring additional support. * Support learners with additional learning needs (ALN), helping them overcome barriers to learning. * Encourage student engagement, confidence, independence and positive behaviour. * Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment. Requirements * Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role. * Experience supporting students with SEN/ALN would be advantageous. * Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. * A patient, adaptable and supportive approach to working with learners. * An Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to undergo one. * Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to obtain the required registration.
