Engineering Workshop Technician Instructor Mechanical & Electrical Location: Deeside, Flintshire Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Contract: On-Going Start: ASAP Duration: On-Going Are you an experienced Engineering Technician, Workshop Technician or Engineering Instructor with strong mechanical and electrical engineering experience? We are recruiting an Engineering Workshop Technician / Instructor to join a busy Further Education engineering department in Deeside. You will support the practical delivery of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering programmes to Level 2 and Level 3 learners, working alongside lecturers to ensure workshops, equipment and resources are safe, prepared and ready for teaching. This would suit an experienced Engineering Technician, Engineering Instructor, Workshop Technician or engineering professional looking to use their practical industry skills within an FE college environment. The Role As an Engineering Workshop Technician / Instructor, you will: * Prepare mechanical and electrical engineering workshops for practical sessions * Set up, maintain and safely store engineering tools, machinery and equipment * Support lecturers and learners during practical Engineering activities * Assist Level 2 and Level 3 learners with the safe use of workshop equipment * Carry out basic fault finding, equipment checks and routine maintenance * Ensure workshops comply with relevant Health & Safety requirements * Manage engineering materials, components, tools and consumables * Help maintain a safe, organised and effective practical learning environment About You We are particularly interested in candidates with: * Strong practical mechanical and electrical engineering experience * A relevant Engineering qualification and/or significant industry experience * Experience as an Engineering Technician, Workshop Technician, Engineering Instructor, Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technician or similar * Practical experience using and maintaining engineering workshop equipment * Good understanding of Engineering workshop Health & Safety * Strong fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills * The ability to support both staff and learners effectively Previous experience within a Further Education college, school, training provider or engineering training environment would be advantageous but is not essential. An Enhanced DBS and EWC registration will be required for this position.
