We are working with a highly regarded organisation seeking a Company Secretary / Assistant Company Secretary to join their legal and governance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a governance-focused professional with at least 2 years’ relevant company secretarial experience looking to take the next step in their career within a collaborative and commercially minded environment.

The key requirement is practical hands-on company secretarial experience, rather than a specific qualification route.
The Role
You will support the governance and company secretarial function across a broad range of responsibilities, including:
- Preparing board and committee papers
- Drafting agendas, board minutes and written resolutions
- Supporting board and committee meetings from a governance perspective
- Maintaining statutory books, corporate records and governance documentation
- Managing Companies House filings and wider corporate compliance obligations
- Assisting with governance processes, approvals and internal decision-making frameworks
- Supporting entity management and wider corporate housekeeping
- Working closely with senior internal stakeholders including legal, finance and leadership teams
- Helping ensure strong governance standards and regulatory compliance
About You
You are likely to have:
- 2+ years’ relevant company secretarial / governance experience
- Strong practical experience preparing board minutes and governance documentation
- Experience supporting board / committee processes
- Familiarity with Companies House filings and UK corporate compliance requirements
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
Desirable (but not essential):
- CGI / ICSA qualification (completed or in progress)
- Legal qualification
- Experience in a regulated or corporate environment
- Exposure to listed, international or complex group structures
