Through our Accuflex service, we partner with a wide range of organisations, including leading in-house legal teams, offering flexible and career-enhancing secondment opportunities. We are currently working with a confidential in-house legal team to identify a junior Legal Operations secondee, offering a strong opportunity to gain exposure to the operational and strategic side of a legal function.

This is a 12-month, full-time secondment based in London within an established in-house legal team. You will work closely with the Legal Operations lead, supporting the smooth running of the team’s day-to-day activities while contributing to broader operational initiatives. The role is particularly well suited to candidates who are interested in how legal teams function from a process, systems, and operational perspective, rather than purely fee-earning work. The successful candidate is expected to start in June 2026.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the coordination of new joiners and leavers, ensuring systems and internal processes are kept up to date and knowledge is appropriately handed over.
  • Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of reports relating to legal spend, budgets, and key risk metrics, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintaining and improving the quality of data within matter management and internal tracking systems.
  • Assisting with the administration of invoicing processes and purchase orders, helping to resolve queries and ensure timely processing in line with internal guidelines.
  • Drafting internal updates and communications relating to process changes, policies, and key developments.
  • Contributing to the review and refinement of existing workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Supporting the rollout and ongoing use of legal tools and systems, including providing guidance where required.
  • Coordinating meetings, updates, and knowledge-sharing sessions within the team.
  • Assisting with a range of legal operations projects and initiatives, depending on team priorities.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking candidates with a genuine interest in legal operations and a strong foundation in working within structured, process-driven environments. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within a legal or in-house environment, for example as a paralegal, legal coordinator, or similar.
  • Exposure to working with legal processes, systems, or operational workflows.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with data and documentation.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
  • Good technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and an interest in legal technology.

Any experience working with legal systems, reporting tools, or process improvement initiatives would be beneficial.

Additional Information

  • London-based role with a regular office presence expected.
  • 12-month secondment within a confidential in-house legal team.
  • Opportunity to develop experience in legal operations, legal technology, and the management of in-house legal functions.
