An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel to join a growing, private equity-backed business operating within the life sciences and professional services sector. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO and CFO, within a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping legal processes, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and helping to build the future legal function of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial client and supplier agreements
- Advising on commercial risk, governance and contractual strategy
- Supporting the standardisation and optimisation of legal templates and processes
- Advising on data protection and regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Supporting governance requirements within a private equity-backed environment
- Managing external counsel relationships where required
- Mentoring junior legal team members and supporting team development
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified solicitor or lawyer with approximately 5+ years’ relevant experience
- Strong commercial contracts experience is essential
- Experience negotiating directly with counterparties and senior stakeholders
- Exposure to US and European commercial contracts highly desirable
- Experience within life sciences, pharma, biotech, data, professional services or other regulated sectors preferred
- Governance and/or data protection experience advantageous
- Commercially pragmatic with strong stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable operating independently within a growing business environment
