Our Client is a fast-paced sausage facility located in Hull. Using only the best cuts of British pork, fresh herbs and spices, they are the UK’s leading producer of gourmet sausages, supplying major retailers and foodservice outlets alike.
We are looking for a motivated and pro-active Shift Manager. The role is to deliver the daily production plan in the most cost-effective manner and in full compliance with current customer/brand product specifications, GMP, food hygiene and health & safety legislation. The supervision and development of a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined team operating on shifts.
Shift: 4 on 4 off
Main duties include (but not limited to):
- Management of all aspects of the completion of the daily plan
- Ensure the effective, efficient and safe running of the area
- To maintain high standards of Food hygiene / Health and Safety / Product Quality
- Responsibility for the team’s performance and product quality
- Build strong working relationships with the team
- Dealing with all aspects of the manufacturing process
- Monitor your team’s performance to make sure they are meeting production targets
- Ensure all materials are available to complete scheduled operations - report and escalate any shortfalls in a timely manner
- Lead, develop and motivate the Senior Line Leader & Line Technicians
- Support the Senior Line Leaders and Line Technicians in the development and motivation of the Operatives
Requirements, experience and person specification:
- Reviewing of relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures
- Accident investigation training
- Understanding and application of Line safety inspections
- Root cause analysis training
- Team/Line Leader or Supervisor previous experience
- Proven machine operating experience typically gained within a manufacturing environment
- Ideally completed NVQ level 2 or above in a Manufacturing/food environment related subject/programme such as FME or Team Leader etc
