We have a vacancy within our Manufacturing Department and are currently recruiting for the role of General Production Operative on a Temporary Basis. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.

Location: Accrofab Alcester Limited B49 6EH

Shift Pattern: 39 hours per week working the Day Shift; 07.30 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and Friday 07.30 to 12.30 with designated breaks.

Responsibilities specific to the role:

  • Perform simple sheet metal work activities such as de-pip, part marking, drilling and simple abrasive operations
  • Perform operation of pre-set machine operations on potentially laser, EDM or EDM
  • Perform ultrasonic degrease, solvent degrease and rotary deburr barrel
  • Perform flypress operation
  • Complete operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Familiar with the use of airflow rig
  • Familiar with the use of the ultrasonic degrease tanks and rotary deburr barrel
  • Basic sheet metal work functions including deburring, polishing and setting to casting.
  • Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Complete operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.

General responsibilities:

  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and report any concerns to supervision.
  • Read and understand the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be carried out.
  • Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the Job Card is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
  • Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes Machine and Tooling Set Up Packs as required, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Inspection Plans etc.
  • Use of all measuring equipment as necessary to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in process inspection in accordance with requirements to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.
  • Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
  • Complete all work booking requirements within the MRP system to ensure accurate WIP records.
  • Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Carry out and record all TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule for the equipment being operated.
  • Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies

Person Specification:

  • 1/2 years\' experience in an Aerospace Industry/ Engineering/ Manufacturing role is desirable
  • Must become familiar with quality & manufacturing standards and maintain and achieve specified targets and objectives in line with business requirements
  • Takes full ownership of their area of responsibility
  • Disciplined and self-motivated
  • Has strong teamwork and a supportive mentality
