We have a vacancy within our Engineering Department and are currently recruiting for the role of Manufacturing Engineer on the Day Shift.

We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.

This role will have responsibility in two separate locations, as detailed below.

Shift Pattern

39 hours each week with a flexible starting time between 07:00 and 08:00 Monday to Friday, with a flexible finish time between 16:00 and 17:00 Monday to Thursday, and on a Friday, a finish time of 12.00.

You will be entitled to a 30-minute unpaid lunch break between 12:00 and 12:30 Monday to Thursday.

Additionally, you will have a 10-minute paid break each morning Monday to Friday and a 10-minute paid break each afternoon Monday to Thursday.

Role Accountabilities

Play a critical role in managing and optimising the manufacturing process for fabricated and machined components.

Ensuring engineering excellence, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance while supporting New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI), customer interactions, and internal production activities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing, new & target customers. Follow up of agreed new business opportunities, supporting commercial and technical alignment.
  • Generate accurate quotations for fabricated and machined components using customer supplied data.
  • Evaluate enquiries for capability and feasibility; escalate where necessary.
  • Evaluate, develop, and optimise processes by applying a deep understanding of design, manufacturing, and tooling to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effective production.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Engineering, Quality, Operations) on manufacturability, cost reduction, and quality improvements.
  • Utilise customer sourcing platforms for RFQ responses and technical feedback.
  • Take accountability for NPDI throughput and prioritisation in alignment with Operations.
  • Manage assigned NPDI and in-load projects to successful completion.
  • Creation and maintenance of company SOPs in support of manufacture and production activities.
  • Creation of Works Orders including setting up a new BOM, Sales Order, production routings, works orders & ‘First Time Through’ sheet and Risk Mitigation.
  • Support the design and manufacture of safe, robust, and efficient tooling, templates, and fixtures for production.

Manage modifications to existing tooling where required, source material for tooling, and launch tooling cards.

  • Ensure manufacturing routings accurately reflect the method & times of manufacture for company product. Manage/ support Route Change requests and update MRP accordingly.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel for problem-solving and training. Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing areas.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific specifications.
  • Support administrative engineering tasks including contract review, change control, tracker updates, and audit of part manufacturing time and costs.
  • Conduct research into new manufacturing capabilities, processes, and customer specifications to support strategic development.

Continuously enhance knowledge of evolving aerospace engineering practices, tools, and technologies.

  • Take accountability for any actions or milestones across any department/business function that require Manufacturing Engineering Support (e. g., NPDI, Production, Quality)
  • Contribute to the delivery of the EHS Model, by participating in Job Safety Observations and providing technical/process solutions to EHS problems where appropriate.

  • Support of special project(s) RFQ/RFPs
  • Support key systems and process developments and projects
  • Support commercial analysis, testing and development of company cost and commercial models
  • Lead and report upon the allocated company policy(ies) and resulting procedures
