We have a vacancy within our Manufacturing Department and are currently recruiting for the role of Manufacturing Team Leader. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.
Shift Pattern: 36.5 hours each week working the Late Shift; 15.00 – 01.00 on Mondays, and 15.00 – 00.30 Tuesday to Thursday. You will be entitled to two breaks each day, one 10-minute unpaid break and one 20-minute unpaid break.
Role Accountabilities
- Operational Control
- Support the “internal customer” (Manufacturing Manager) by sharing agreed objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery and participating in the Operational Control model.
- Responsible for conducting the designated departmental walk the floor routine.
- Contribute to the delivery of the EHS Model, by leading in Job Safety Observations and providing technical/process solutions to EHS problems where appropriate.
- Understand the process constraints and operating rules of the value stream covered in the TL role and lead problem-solving exercises to improve flow where relevant.
- Support Manufacturing Manager through day-to-day supervision of late shift.
- Manage the output of the late shift team and ensure productivity/EHS is optimised.
- Be the escalation point for both internal and external customers during the late shift.
- Be responsible for site security – key holder and responsible for locking up at end of shift.
- Complete a shift handover ensuring operational status and escalation is shared to the next shift.
- General responsibilities
- Manufacture of Forming and Sheet metal components in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Ability to read and understand data cards and drawings to the level required for machine set up and operation.
- Set up machines with the required work holding and tooling in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Complete Sheet Metal operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
- Complete press brake operations efficiently in accordance with Job Card instructions to achieve the required output levels.
- Carry out routine machine maintenance.
- Manage throughput of work in priority order to deliver our OTIF target.
- Generate and review data to ensure planned times are accurate and that team members complete work within time allocated and take reasonable actions where required.
- Maintain an efficient system to control the maintenance and storage/replenishment of tooling.
- Liaise with Management regarding staffing levels, workload and priorities.
- Distribution of work according to the priorities defined by the scheduling lists.
- Conduct daily Hazard Spotting to achieve Hazard Spotting targets and sustain a safe working environment.
- Work alongside the Manufacturing Engineer and Technical Lead to resolve quality issues and ensure suitable measures in line with company process are applied to prevent reoccurrence.
- Oversee the technical lead is giving adequate training inline with defined training plans to employees where required.
- Conduct RTW’s, absence reviews and complete late/absence forms.
- Manage the late shifts holidays in conjunction with the Dayshift TL’s ensuring shift/process coverage.
- Work with Human resources to sustain an ethical working environment which adheres to company policies.

- Apply problem-solving methodologies to define and solve problems at root cause as a method of improving operational performance, in particular on process capability and quality problems.
- From time to time, you may be required to perform other duties as requested by your Line Manager, and whilst not listed above, these duties will be appropriate to the level of responsibility held and to the scope of the role as defined.
Person Specification
- Previous experience of working to Aerospace standards.
- Experienced in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- An understanding and alignment to our Accrofab Values; Respect, Integrity, Safety and Excellence.
- Preferably 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
