We have a vacancy within our Quality Department and are currently recruiting for the role of Quality Technician. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.

Location: Accrofab Alcester Limited B49 6EH

Shift Pattern: 39 hours per week working the Day Shift; 07.30 to 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and Friday 07.30 to 12.30 with designated breaks.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Handling and facilitating the resolution of customer, supplier & internal QA issues including nonconformance and material review processes, ensuring adherence at all times to Nonconformance procedure.
  • Support Production and Engineering daily with all quality related issues including specification clarification.
  • Support operator training and development exercises including toolbox talks and quality alerts.
  • Support in the creation of Qualification / Approval activities and documentation for new / existing parts, including PFMEA.
  • Support customer qualification documentation i.e. FAIRs, PPAP, Measurement Systems Analysis (AS13003), APQP, SDR, Concession etc. is completed in accordance with customer requirements and specified timeframe.
  • Coordinate, document and control the process for Metallurgical tests required by the business.
  • Ensure datacard control and compliance to customer requirements.
  • Attending meetings and liaising with customers and suppliers to deliver Quality related requirements.
  • Maintaining necessary records and logs including raising and recording of Nonconformances.
  • Maintain a professional and helpful approach to all situations; interdepartmental, customer & supplier interactions.
  • Maintain an open and flexible approach to continually changing working environment to meet business demands.
  • Ensure all new customer specifications have been reviewed & where necessary a GAP analysis performed to support smooth business transition & maintain folder is kept up to date.
  • Maintaining and reporting against key performance indicators to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Be proactive in the continuing growth and development of the business, specifically the QMS.
  • Ensure timely resolution and customer feedback on quality related issues.
  • Reviewing operating procedures to ensure continued compliance through audit and during investigations.
  • Improving investigation, problem-solving and follow-up of Quality issues (guide and coach correct behaviours, stop repetitive issues and identify potential causes of issues before they happen).
  • Monitoring the resolution of identified issues, seeking acceptance of an effective solution, and ensuring that the new standards determined by this solution are maintained, and where necessary, built into the Walk the Floor routines.
  • Carry out Corrective Actions relating to Quality issues following incidents or audit findings.
  • Coordinate and carry out Quality activities including; visual management/ WTF support/ Internal & Supplier Auditing/ New starter inductions when required.
  • Operate daily in accordance with the QMS system and support the continual development and effectiveness of the system.
  • Making recommendations for improvements to the management system and its processes.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • IT Skills E - Microsoft Office E - ERP Systems E - Job-specific IT systems: (Quality related software)
  • General Employee Competences E - Problem Solving E - Basic Project Management D - At least 3 years experience in an equivalent Quality Engineering role.
  • Academic Achievements D - Up to and including A level (or equivalent): Mathematics, English Language, a science subject. E - Up to and including degree level (or equivalent): (HNC Quality or Engineering related discipline)
  • Professional Qualifications E - Job-specific qualifications: (HNC Quality or Engineering related discipline)
