Our client, an established, forward thinking firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking a part-time Bookkeeping Assistant for their Chichester office, West Sussex. The role will be 22.5 hours a week, to be worked over 3-5 days and will involve supporting the bookkeeping team with processing client records using accounting software and general administrative duties.

Key duties include:

  • Process high volumes of client documentation accurately and efficiently into accounting systems (primarily Sage)
  • Match, batch and code client documentation
  • Ensure correct VAT treatment is applied at all times
  • Process client expenses as required
  • Input and reconcile bank transactions in line with team requirements
  • Assist with general bookkeeping tasks as directed by the Bookkeeping Manager
  • Support the team to meet client deadlines and service standards
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably required in line with the role

You will ideally have a basic understanding of bookkeeping principles in practice or a willingness to learn and progress in a practice environment. You will also possess strong organisation and communication skills. A good working knowledge of Xero, Sage, Dext and QuickBooks would be an advantage. You may also be asked to attend the firm's other offices or clients' premises from time to time, so access to a vehicle would be required.
