Our client, an independent, forward-thinking firm of Chartered Accountants, is seeking an Accounts Senior to join their team in Kidlington, Oxford. The position will involve managing all aspects of statutory and management accounts, VAT and tax returns for a mixed portfolio of clients, along with providing advice. You will also help to mentor and train junior staff.
Key duties will include:
- Supervising work on a varied client portfolio which consists mainly of companies, as well as partnerships, sole traders and personal tax clients. This will include overseeing client deadlines and helping the team to prioritise their workload.
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and IFRS.
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts, bookkeeping services, VAT returns and corporation tax returns.
- Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns.
- Providing tailored business advice and consultancy services to help clients with tax planning, financial strategy, business growth, restructuring.
- Developing relationships with new and existing clients, becoming a regular point of contact for their needs.
- Assisting with the training and development of juniors.
- Utilising accounting software and staying up-to-date with advancements in accounting technologies.
- Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes, drive efficiencies, and enhance client service.
They are ideally looking for someone with at least 2 years post qualification UK practice experience, with a strong accounts background and a professional qualification such as ACCA/ACA. You will also have good technical knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS. An understanding of software such as CCH and Excel would also be an advantage.
