We're working with a growing SME to recruit a Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Manager on a temporary basis, with a strong potential to become permanent. This is a standalone finance role, reporting directly into the CFO and working closely with an external accountant who supports the month-end close. This role would suit someone hands-on, confident owning the day-to-day finance function, and comfortable operating in a small business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full ownership of transactional finance activities
- Posting and processing purchase and sales invoices
- Bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations
- Managing the debtor ledger and credit control
- Supporting month-end close, including accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Liaising with the external accountant to support month-end and reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity within Xero
- Supporting the CFO with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper or Finance Manager within an SME environment
- Strong transactional accounting background with solid reconciliation experience
- Confident supporting month-end processes (even if not owning final sign-off)
- Experience managing sales ledger / debtors
- Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
- Comfortable working independently in a standalone finance role
- Proactive, organised and able to hit the ground running
