We are currently recruiting for a temporary Service Charge Accountant to join a busy property management team supporting a residential portfolio. This opportunity would suit someone with previous property accounting or service charge accounting experience who is confident managing multiple developments and working closely with Property Managers and Clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing client and service charge accounts across a residential property portfolio
- Producing service charge, ground rent, insurance and rent demands
- Preparing quarterly and year‑end service charge accounts within required deadlines
- Completing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
- Issuing monthly and quarterly income and expenditure statements
- Assisting with the preparation of trial balance information for external accountants
- Handling customer, tenant and supplier queries via telephone and email
- Supporting the onboarding process for new properties
- Running reports and providing financial information to Property Managers
- Carrying out daily banking duties and maintaining accurate records
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within service charge accounting or property accounting
- Understanding of property management and service charge processes
- Experience using Tramps or similar property management systems desirable
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Team player with a proactive and adaptable approach
