Our client, a retail business in the City, is looking to recruit a Management Accountant on a temporary to permanent basis. Initially, it will be a 3-month temporary position with the view to going permanent. They are looking for someone to start ASAP.

The purpose of the role is to prepare the monthly Management Accounts (including budgets and forecasts) and provide support for the finance team reporting to the Financial Controller and Finance Director. You will support the budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, providing data reflecting business activity, and identify and highlight areas of risk and opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have experience using NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities of the role:
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
  • Completing the month/quarter end close in line with reporting deadlines.
  • Ownership of specific P&L and Balance Sheet accounts including calculation and posting of related accruals/prepayments, cost analysis and understanding of variances vs budget/forecast.
  • Assisting in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Lead and prepare revenue analysis.
  • Ensuring Management Accounts accuracy through the performance of key controls and reconciliations.
  • Monitoring spending, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and analysing performance by nominal and department.
  • Developing and overseeing financial systems, improving accounting procedures, and ensuring efficient operations.
