An established and growing accountancy and advisory business is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join its finance team based in Canary Wharf. This is a client-facing role managing a portfolio of 8β10 hospitality-focused clients, acting as their financial controller and trusted commercial partner. You will work closely with senior leadership, operational managers, and internal finance teams to ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including full overhead analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Produce weekly flash reports covering sales, cost of sales, stock consumption, and labour costs versus budget and prior year.
- Assist external advisors with information for statutory accounts.
- Prepare and update client budgets as required.
- Operational Finance & Cost Control
- Work closely with operational managers to control payroll and operating costs against budget.
- Support and review weekly stock controls (food, beverage, consumables).
- Reconcile third-party stock systems to accounting records and investigate variances.
- Drive improvements in financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
- Payroll & Compliance
- Review and correct fortnightly / four-weekly payroll.
- Reconcile payroll journals, PAYE, NI, and net pay control accounts.
- Ensure payroll compliance and accuracy prior to payments.
- Cash Flow & Transaction Management
- Produce cash flow reports and support cash management decisions.
- Oversee purchase ledger processing and aged creditor reconciliations.
