An established business based in Cheltenham are seeking a commercially minded SeniorManagement Accountant to join its growing finance team.

This is a role where your technical expertise will be valued, but just as importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to influence, challenge and improve the way the finance function operates.

As Management Accountant, you’ll have a varied role with exposure across management accounts, financial controls, cash flow, budgeting, audit and wider finance projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts for designated group entities.
  • Taking ownership of monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Completing and submitting VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations where required.
  • Maintaining and continually strengthening financial controls across the business.
  • Supporting acquisitions and integrations, including financial due diligence and integration planning.
  • Developing and monitoring cash flow forecasts, identifying potential risks and communicating these proactively.
  • Supporting the annual year-end audit, including preparing audit packs and liaising directly with auditors.
  • Contributing to the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Providing insightful financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Getting involved in finance projects, process improvements and ad-hoc initiatives, giving you the opportunity to make a real difference beyond the day-to-day numbers.

About you:

  • You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience in management accounting and a strong grounding in financial reporting, reconciliations and financial controls.
  • You’ll be naturally analytical and highly organised, with the confidence to investigate issues, challenge where necessary and present financial information clearly to senior leaders and auditors.

What You'll BringEssential

  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience within a Management Accountant or similar finance position.
  • Strong technical accounting, reporting and reconciliation skills.
