You will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the Group's tax strategy, working at the heart of the business to influence decision-making, manage risk, and unlock value. With exposure to senior stakeholders, complex transactions, and evolving tax landscapes, this role offers both challenge and genuine career progression.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Take ownership of the Group's tax landscape, overseeing both direct and indirect taxes, with a strong focus on VAT and Employment Taxes managed in-house.
- Act as the go-to expert on VAT across construction and property projects—partnering with commercial and finance teams to ensure accurate, efficient, and commercially sound tax treatment.
- Lead on VAT compliance and reporting, ensuring everything runs smoothly while confidently managing HMRC interactions and queries.
- Drive best-in-class VAT processes in a post-Brexit and Domestic Reverse Charge environment.
- Collaborate closely with Payroll to ensure seamless PAYE and CIS compliance, while adding value through process improvements and insights.
- Use your expertise in IR35 and off-payroll working to guide the business and mitigate risk in a practical, solutions-focused way.
- Partner with advisors to manage Corporation Tax matters, including provisions and compliance, while maintaining strong audit readiness.
