Job Description – Junior UK Accountant
Accountancy 4 You Ltd is an established and growing accountancy practice based in Manchester. We work with a varied portfolio of UK businesses and pride ourselves on providing a personal, professional and approachable service to our clients.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Junior UK Accountant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has some experience within a UK accountancy practice and is confident working independently and managing their own portfolio of clients.
Main responsibilities:
- Preparing Year End Accounts for UK Limited Companies
- Preparing Corporation Tax computations and CT600 returns
- Preparing and reviewing VAT Returns
- Preparing Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Reviewing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Dealing with HMRC and Companies House
- Working with Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems
- Managing deadlines and your own portfolio of clients
- Communicating directly with clients and providing day-to-day accounting support
- Supporting and reviewing work completed by junior members of the team
- Assisting with general tax and accounting queries
Experience and skills required:
- Minimum 1–3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting and taxation
- Experience preparing Limited Company accounts and Corporation Tax Returns
- Good knowledge of VAT and Self Assessment
- Experience using Xero
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
- ACCA/ACA/AAT qualified or part-qualified would be an advantage, although we are happy to consider candidates qualified by experience (QBE)
