Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnered with a large manufacturing company based in Ellesmere Port to recruit an experienced Cost Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for analysing and controlling costs to maximise profits and drive efficiencies across the business.

Responsibilities Include:- Costing of new products, ensuring accurate standard costs and BOMs.
- Deliver quarterly standard cost updates with clear communication to senior management.
- Perform weekly process order settlements, variance calculations, and provide actionable insights.
- Lead month-end close for production and inventory, including actual costing.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations (GRNI, stock in transit, inventory).
- Analyse and report manufacturing variances (PPV, freight, storage), identifying and resolving cost issues.
- Lead variance review meetings with senior management.
- Produce monthly plant financials, comparing actuals vs forecasts and highlighting key risks/opportunities.
- Partner with Product Management on new product development and customer tenders.
- Support annual budgeting, including overhead absorption rate calculations.
- Support external audit requirements.
- Ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- CIMA, ACCA, AC qualified or QBE.
- Proven Costing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent Outlook, Excel skills and use of ERP system.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of personnel.
