Accountable Recruitment are supporting a well-established, privately owned business in the search for a Financial Controller to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a diverse multi-entity business in a highly visible leadership role. Working closely with the Managing Director and business owner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, commercial insight and financial control across the group.
The business operates across several specialist divisions and has built a strong reputation within its markets. With established systems and processes in place, the focus of the role will be on strengthening reporting, supporting decision-making and ensuring finance adds genuine value across the organisation.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the group's finance function, leading reporting activities across multiple entities while partnering closely with operational stakeholders.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, can effectively challenge and influence senior stakeholders, and is passionate about using financial information to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare weekly financial and operational performance reports
Produce monthly management accounts across multiple entities
Deliver consolidated group reporting and analysis
Lead cashflow forecasting and working capital management
Conduct cost, margin and profitability analysis
Develop job costing and utilisation reporting
Oversee month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls
Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities
Provide commercial insight and recommendations to senior leadership
Drive accountability and financial discipline across the wider business
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and efficiencies
Key skills
We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience operating within a multi-company environment.
You will have a strong technical accounting background combined with the commercial awareness and communication skills required to influence stakeholders across the business.
Experience within construction, engineering, logistics or other project-based environments would be highly advantageous. xiskglj
Most importantly, you will be a proactive and commercially minded finance leader who can build relationships, challenge where appropriate, and provide meaningful insight that helps drive operational and financial performance.
