Job Description Interim Year End Accountant (3-Month Contract) \ N Location: St Helens Contract Length: 3 Months Working Pattern: 4 Days On-Site | 1 Day Working from Home Start Date: ASAP Salary Equivalent: £60,000 - £70,000 (pro rata) / Competitive Day Rate \ N The Opportunity \ N An established business based in St Helens is seeking an experienced finance professional to join the team on an initial 3-month contract to support a busy year-end period. \ N This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with a practice, audit or technical accounting background who can quickly add value and support the finance team through year-end and audit requirements. \ N You'll work closely with senior finance stakeholders, ensuring reporting deadlines are met and that the year-end process runs smoothly. \ N Key Responsibilities \ N \n Supporting the preparation of year-end statutory accounts \ N Assisting with the external audit process and acting as a key contact for auditors \ N Preparing audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation \ N Reviewing and reconciling balance sheet accounts \ N Producing month-end andyear-end journals where required \ N Supporting the preparation of financial statements \ N Investigating and resolving accounting queries and discrepancies \ N Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls \ N Assisting with tax, VATand other statutory reporting requirements \ N Supporting cash flow, accrual and prepayment reviews \ N Analysing financial data and providing insight to support decision-making \ N Assisting with ad hoc finance projects during the contract period \ N \n About You \ N \n ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience \ N Previous experience within practice, audit or a technical accounting role \ N Strong understanding ofstatutory accounts and year-end processes \ N Experience liaising with external auditors \ N Excellent Excel skills \ N Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities \ N Able to work independently and hit the ground running \ N Available to start immediately or at short notice \ N \n What's onOffer? \ N \n Immediate start \ N Salary equivalent of £60,000 - £70,000 plus potential flexibility for the right candidate \ N Hybrid working model with 4 days on-site and 1 day working from home \ N Opportunity to join a supportive finance team during a key reporting period \ N Potential for extensiondepending on business requirements \ N \n If you'rea qualified accountant with a practice or audit background looking for an immediate contract opportunity, we'd like to hear from you.
