Our client is a well-established and highly regarded organisation based in Liverpool, currently seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified accounting professional looking to take ownership of key financial processes while working closely with operational stakeholders across the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in the production of accurate financial information, supporting business decision-making and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained. Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Month-end reporting, accruals, prepayments and journal postings
- Balance sheet reconciliations and ledger maintenance
- Producing financial analysis and variance reports against budget and forecast
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
- Supporting accounts payable, credit control and wider finance activities when required
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation and external auditor queries
- Providing ad hoc financial analysis and support to senior stakeholders
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role
- Strong month-end accounting experience
- Knowledge of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills with the ability to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A recognised accounting qualification, or be actively studying towards one (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
