Management Accountant (12-Month FTC)
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a high-performing finance function within one of the UK\’s largest and most well-established businesses. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers the chance to work on a range of exciting projects, including a major finance transformation programme and a system upgrade, while supporting the delivery of accurate and insightful management information to drive strategic decision-making.
The Role
As Group Management Accountant, you will play a key role in the production of monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets, providing financial analysis and insight to support operational and strategic initiatives.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to senior stakeholders and contribute to ongoing transformation projects across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts journals and supporting analyses.
- Production of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Partnering with divisional and operational teams to manage financial performance and support decision-making.
- Development and improvement of financial reporting and management information.
- Active involvement in finance transformation initiatives, including system upgrades and process improvements.
- Documentation and enhancement of processes to support efficiency and effective knowledge sharing.
About You
You\’ll be a motivated, hands-on accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You\’ll have strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships across finance and operations.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or QBE with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in management accounting, reporting and analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working with large data sets and financial systems (SAP experience advantageous).
- Confident communicator with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience in manufacturing, logistics or a similar industry would be advantageous.
