An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified Management Accountant to join a well-established global organisation with a strong operational footprint and headquarters in Liverpool city centre. This role offers excellent exposure to operational finance, stakeholder engagement and international working, making it ideal for someone looking to develop their career within a complex, fast-moving environment.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for providing high-quality management accounting and operational financial support. The role has a strong costing and analysis focus and works closely with operational and technical teams both in the UK and internationally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing monthly management accounts, including cost reviews, accruals, prepayments and variance analysis against budget and forecast
- Preparing clear, concise commentary to explain financial performance and drivers
- Building strong working relationships with operational and technical stakeholders
- Supporting balance sheet integrity through ownership of reconciliations for accruals, prepayments and inventory
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of operational costs
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activity in collaboration with international finance teams
- Assisting with quarterly and year-end reporting requirements
- Providing guidance and support to junior finance colleagues where required
- Authorising payment runs and handling ad-hoc accounting queries
- Contributing to continuous improvement across operational finance processes
- Some international travel may be required from time to time - adhoc
About You
This role would suit a proactive and detail-focused Management Accountant who enjoys working close to operations. You will likely bring:
- Newly qualified (CIMA / ACCA) or close to qualification
- Experience within a finance or accounts environment, ideally with exposure to management accounting
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems (ERP exposure desirable)
- The ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A collaborative approach and willingness to take ownership
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
