The business is seeking to appoint an experienced Interim Head of Financial Operations on a 3-6 month contract to provide senior financial leadership within a complex group structure. This is a high-impact interim role, offering the opportunity to play a critical part in strengthening financial governance, supporting transformation activity and acting as a trusted strategic partner to the Executive team.
The role will suit a fully qualified finance leader with substantial post-qualification experience, particularly within large, regulated or multi-entity environments, who is comfortable operating at senior leadership level and driving change at pace.
The Role
- Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take full ownership of the group's financial operations and controls, leading a broad financial accounting remit across the organisation and its subsidiary entities.
- Leading the group financial accounting function, with full accountability for statutory reporting, year-end accounts, financial control and regulatory compliance.
- Acting as a strategic finance partner to the Executive team, providing insight and challenge to support organisational change and transformation initiatives.
- Overseeing taxation, treasury, investment management, capital structure and foreign exchange exposure, ensuring financial optimisation while managing risk.
- Playing an active role within the Finance Leadership Team, contributing to departmental strategy and wider organisational objectives.
- Ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of all statutory financial and fiscal reporting.
- Providing assurance over the effectiveness of financial controls, reporting processes and risk management frameworks.
- Leading the annual external audit process and supporting internal audit activity where required.
- Overseeing transactional finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger.
- Ensuring robust intercompany accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, group consolidation and capital & fixed asset reporting.
- Developing and maintaining group-wide financial policies, procedures and financial risk registers.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in a Financial Controller or Head of Finance role.
- Proven track record of leading finance teams within complex, regulated or group environments.
- Strong experience in statutory reporting, group consolidation, audit and regulatory compliance.
- Solid technical knowledge of taxation (including corporation tax, VAT and income tax), treasury and foreign currency management.
- Experience working within complex or international group structures, including collaboration with overseas entities or partners.
